At Digital Surge, we're committed to providing a secure, compliant, and seamless cryptocurrency trading experience.

To prepare for upcoming Australian regulatory requirements for digital asset transfers, including the implementation of the Travel Rule from 1 July 2026, we're introducing updates to how cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals are processed on the platform.

These changes will begin rolling out on **22 June 2026** and may require customers to provide additional information when sending or receiving cryptocurrency between Digital Surge and external wallets or exchanges.

## What is the Travel Rule?

The Travel Rule is an international compliance standard designed to improve transparency in digital asset transfers and help prevent financial crime.

Under these requirements, cryptocurrency exchanges and digital asset service providers may need to collect and verify certain information about the sender and recipient of a transaction when cryptocurrency is transferred between platforms and external wallets.

The Travel Rule comes into effect in Australia on **1 July 2026** and will apply across the digital asset industry.

## What’s changing for crypto withdrawals?

When adding a new cryptocurrency withdrawal address, you may be asked to provide some basic information about the destination wallet and who it belongs to.

This may include:

- Whether the wallet belongs to you or someone else
- Whether it is a personal wallet or exchange account
- Recipient name
- Country of residence

Once the information has been provided and verified, the withdrawal address will be saved to your Address Book and can be reused for future transfers without needing to repeat the process.

## What’s changing for crypto deposits?

When cryptocurrency is deposited into your Digital Surge account, the transaction may occasionally be held as pending until additional information is provided.

If required, you will receive a prompt within your Digital Surge dashboard asking you to confirm details such as:

- Whether the sending wallet belongs to you or someone else
- Whether the funds came from a personal wallet or exchange
- Sender name
- Country of residence

Once submitted, the deposit will be reviewed and released to your account.

## What happens if information is missing?

If the required information is not provided, cryptocurrency deposits or withdrawals may be delayed until the necessary details have been completed.

No action is required unless you are transferring cryptocurrency to or from an external wallet or exchange.

## Designed to keep transfers secure

While these updates introduce a small amount of additional information collection in certain situations, they help ensure Digital Surge remains a secure, compliant, and trusted platform for Australian cryptocurrency investors.

Our goal is to keep the transfer process as smooth as possible while meeting evolving industry standards.
