Buy VeChain (VET) in Australia

Walmart China traces food from source to shelf on the VeChainThor blockchain, via the traceability platform announced with PwC in June 2019, temperature-monitored freight included. Owning the coin behind it is simpler: Digital Surge quotes VET in Australian dollars, and with a one-coin minimum you can start with a single VET.

About VeChain (VET)

VeChain (VET) is the native coin of the VeChainThor blockchain, the public Layer-1 mainnet that went live on 30 June 2018 after more than a year of development, when the earlier Ethereum-based VEN token was swapped for native VET.

VeChainThor runs a Proof of Authority consensus in which a fixed set of vetted Authority Masternodes produce a block roughly every ten seconds. A November 2022 upgrade to PoA 2.0 added verifiable randomness and a fast-finality mechanism so confirmed blocks cannot later be reversed. A dual-token design keeps VET as the value-transfer coin, while a separate token, VTHO, is generated by holding VET and spent on transaction and smart-contract fees.

The network traces back to founder Sunny Lu, once a CIO within the LVMH Group, and today underpins supply-chain work such as the Walmart China traceability platform. For that fuller story, see our VeChain guide.

Why VET, why here

Why buy VeChain with Digital Surge

Digital Surge has been Australian-owned since 2017, so a VET order lands on well-worn local rails.

Should I feel comfortable buying VET here?

You should.

Digital Surge is AUSTRAC-registered, meaning Australia's anti-money-laundering supervisor has it on record, and no order goes through before your identity check clears.

Filled VET orders land straight in your balance.

Educational content on this site is general information only, not a recommendation.

One VET is a valid order

That is the honest minimum: orders start at one whole coin, and a single VET costs so little in AUD that the floor is barely a floor.

Fees are low and transparent, set out on the order ticket first, and deposits work by PayID or bank transfer.

Where to buy VeChain in Australia

Digital Surge is an Australian-owned platform where more than 50,000 Australians buy and hold coins like VeChain, with an Australian-based support team behind every order. Deposits come in by PayID, often within minutes, or by regular bank transfer, and each VET order settles at the live AUD price on your screen. Low fees are set out on the order ticket first, so the AUD total you approve is the AUD total you pay.

FAQ

Buying VeChain: FAQs

How many VET make an order?

One will do it. Digital Surge accepts VeChain orders from a single VET and steps up in whole coins, and because one VET costs very little in AUD, that floor is barely a floor. Set the size in coins or in AUD.

What's the wait on a first VET order?

Account setup is the longest stretch, and it is usually short: verification tends to clear quickly and a PayID deposit generally shows up within minutes. From a funded account, a VET order fills the moment you confirm.

Can I sell or swap VET on Digital Surge?

Yes. From your Digital Surge account you can sell VET back to Australian dollars or swap it for another listed coin, without leaving the app. The order fills at the live rate when you confirm, and the AUD credits your balance straight away.

Do VET withdrawals go to an Ethereum address?

No. VET has been native to the VeChainThor blockchain since the June 2018 swap replaced the old Ethereum-based VEN, so a withdrawal from Digital Surge needs a VeChainThor wallet address. Check that your receiving wallet supports VeChainThor before sending.

Is VET the same as the old VEN token?

Not quite. VET replaced the earlier Ethereum-based VEN in the June 2018 token swap, when VeChain launched its own VeChainThor mainnet. Since then VET has traded as a native coin on that chain, and the VEN token is retired. On Digital Surge you buy VET.

Where is the VET price quoted in AUD?

At the top of this page, where the live figure follows VeChain's market in AUD trade by trade. The converter prices any exact amount both ways in AUD, and checkout works from the same rate.
